Igor Tudor refused to comment on his future as Tottenham head coach as the club's relegation fears worsened following a shocking 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at home.
Spurs' chances of relegation now sit at 16.1 per cent, up from 7 per cent, with West Ham and Nottingham Forest both picking up crucial points in the same week as their loss to the Eagles, leaving them just one point above the drop zone.
The threat of dropping into the Championship for the reigning Europa League holders is now a real possibility.
When asked whether he would be in charge for the next game away at Liverpool, following his third defeat in three games as Spurs boss, Tudor said: "No comment on that question."
Spurs led 1-0 but collapsed after Micky van de Ven was dismissed, as Palace cruised to a 3-1 win away from home.
Spurs - last relegated from the top flight in 1977 - face Liverpool at Anfield, live on Your Site, next in the Premier League.
"I understand the fans, they wanted more," he added after the game. "We also wanted more. The red card changed everything.
"It might sound strange, I believe more after this game than I believed before.
"I saw something. I need to choose the right guys because the boat is going in the direction that I need to go, and who is in the boat can stay, otherwise, [they] can leave the boat.
"When the other players come back, I'm sure we'll have a good team and come back. It's not easy to accept the moment we are in now."
Spurs' odds of relegation now sit at 19/10, equating to an implied probability of 35 per cent they'll be playing in the Sky Bet Championship next season.
Dominic Solanke urged his Spurs team-mates to realise the situation they are in after the club's relegation fears heightened with Thursday's defeat.
"It's another difficult one to take," he told SpursPlay. "Before the game, we looked at the game thinking we definitely needed to win, but it's another game that has passed now and we need to realise the position we're in.
"It was difficult circumstances (with 10 men) but we've had a chat between us and we need to understand we need to improve and improve now.
"It is difficult and hard to say with just words, we need to show it on the pitch but it's something we need to do as soon as possible.
"We obviously need to realise the position that we are in. We know it's been so difficult this season with the injuries, but we can't change that now.
"Us players on the pitch need to take responsibility and ultimately change it as soon as possible.
"It's difficult just speaking, but we need to realise the position we're in and we need to fight for every game. Fight for every result and there is not many games left, so we need to start (winning) soon."
